"The draw is probably a fair result" - Cavan's Mickey Graham on Armagh stalemate

Cavan and Armagh will have to do it all again after a gripping 0-17 to 1-14 draw at Clones on Sunday.

Cavan were down a man and trailing by four points with the match drawing to a conclusion only to rally and force extra time.

Cian Mackey's 88th minute point ensured the sides couldn't be separated and Cavan boss Mickey Graham thinks it was a fair result, telling Dave McIntrye: "It probably was yeah but that's Ulster Championship.

"It had everything there today: big hits, some good football at times and it had a lot of desire and will. There was a lot of character shown by both teams, in fairness to them.

"We said it after the Monaghan game when Monaghan came back at us - we showed a bit of character but it was really tested today.

In fairness to the lads, they didn't panic. When we went the four points down and a man down - I think it galvanised us a wee bit.

"We definitely upped our game and we were just delighted to get in at full time all square to get another go at it in the second half.

"In extra time, you had two very tired teams with a lot of mistakes and turnovers made in that last couple of minutes from both sides.

"The conditions were tricky. It's a swirling wind and it's hard to know who it suited but it was the same for both teams. I think the draw is probably a fair result when you look at it," he added.

The teams will have to do it all again in Clones next Sunday.
