Chantry House takes advantage of shock Envoi Allen fall to win Marsh Novices' Chase

Chantry House has won the Marsh Novices' Chase to start day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival, after big favourite Envoi Allen was an early faller.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained star went off an odds-on favourite, but his race was over after just four fences when he fell, thankfully both horse and jockey Jack Kennedy were able to walk away seemingly unscathed.

Sent off a red hot 4/9 favourite, Envoi Allen had settled into fourth place for the opening stages of the race, behind Fusil Raffles who set the pace.

And after clipping the top of the fourth fence, the previously unbeaten 7-year-old's day was done.

Shan Blue - for Dan and Harry Skelton - pushed several lengths clear, but it was the Nicky Henderson duo of Chantry House and Fusil Raffles who closed in around the bend.

And it was Chantry House - in the colours of JP McManus who held on up the hill by around three lengths to give the British just their fourth winner of this year's festival, Nico de Boinville on the 9/1 winner.

Henderson's record 70th Cheltenham winner was made all the more sweeter by Fusil Raffles making it a Henderson one-two under the mount of Daryl Jacob, while the Willie Mullins-trained Asterion Forlonge placed third, ridden by Paul Townend.
