"I can't believe they beat us 5-1" - Kilbane thinks Denmark are overrated

Kevin Kilbane believes that Denmark are a side that Ireland should be beating, after their 1-1 draw in Dublin last night.

The former Republic of Ireland international spoke to Off The Ball after their Euro 2020 qualifier, and was less than complimentary of the Danes' strengths.

"You look throughout the side, and they have got good players, but I have harped on about it so often - how they beat us 5-1 in that play-off game two years ago, I don't know.

"I still can't get my head around that result because although they dominated possession - and they did outplay us in Copenhagen earlier on in this campaign - other than that, they haven't.

"They are not a great side. They are not a side that would intimidate me in any way, shape or form. They are quite a long ball side.

"Whenever I have seen them, they hit so many long diagonal balls.

"They put them into Poulsen or Braithwaite, and like to go direct to Cornelius. That is the way they play, they are a very much functional team that are difficult to beat.

"That is why they have that record that they have the record that they have, that unbeaten run,  because they are so hard to beat but they are not a good footballing side."
