Let’s Go Back To… is a Go Loud original podcast hosted by Off The Ball’s Eoin Sheahan and Sue Murphy that revisits our favourite films and TV shows and chats with a panel of guests about the film they return to over and over again. Films like this week's special, Glengarry Glen Ross.
What’s your favourite film or TV show? It’s not the easiest question to answer but maybe it’s the one you go back to watch over and over again. It’s the characters you’re willing to spend all that time with, the lines you can finish that you know off by heart and it’s the connection with that film or TV show that you alone feel. That just might be the best indicator.
Our first episode features the insightful and hilarious Simon Delaney who talks about his favourite film, Glengarry Glen Ross. A classic starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey, the entire film revolves around an office of New York salesmen out to get the best sales results to make sure they get the coveted prize of a Cadillac and don’t get fired.
Delaney loves this film. He loves everything about it – the script, the characters, the performances, what happens behind the scenes… He acts out sections of it while he talks about it his personal hero, Jack Lemmon. While recording, we were genuinely blown away by his in-depth knowledge and his passion for the film.
